To My Fellow Young African Leaders,

Gov-Enhance Africa was birthed from a deep-rooted desire to see African governments that exercise positively consequential governance that prioritizes fostering perennial social, economic and political productivity that empowers the African citizenry to meet their own needs both individually and collectively. Young Africans have an integral and leading role to inspire visionary policy that is delivered through dynamic governance to achieve this vision.

Our unique community of practice and membership allows Young Africans, both at home and in the diaspora, to use their multi-disciplinary thought-leadership and technical abilities to firstly provide policy alternatives to decision-makers and to secondly, engage in capacity building initiatives that enhance the efficacy of existing system frameworks for governments to better deliver basic services to their citizens. As a non-partisan organization, we see the importance of forging partnerships with governments, the private sector and most importantly members of civil society to construct nuanced yet pragmatic policy recommendations that enhance governance within our governments and regional institutions.

At the centre of the debate regarding the future of our continent is the question of ‘Agency’. As a generationally inspired organization, we at Gov-Enhance Africa have taken up this call for ‘African Agency’. In particular, we the young people are best positioned and equipped to chart our continent toward sustainable economic, social and political development through good enhanced governance. Whilst we welcome global partners to work with us towards this endeavor, it is important to embrace a  sense of ownership and not relinquish the call to be the active agents of our own progress and growth. As we stand on the shoulders of past leaders who have lead us to today, now is the time for us, the younger generation of visionary enhancers to embrace our continent’s challenges and Gov-Enhance Africa.
