Gov-Enhance Africa’s publications are sourced specifically from young African thought leaders, on the continent and in the diaspora who want to engage and impact matters of policy and governance in Africa. Our publications give a platform to young African thought leaders to take up their agency and actively craft solutions for the continent’s challenges.

Read below for the Process and easy Steps to become a Gov-Enhancer:

Eligible Submissions must be:

  • focused on a policy or governance issue with prescribed recommendations.
  • focused on an individual country.
  • focused on a specific sector of enhancement.
  • written in English and/or French.
  • original work/ submissions that are not being considered by other publications for that publication cycle. 

Submission of Abstracts:

  • length of which must not exceed 200 words.
  • The abstract should include 4 – 6 key phrases for publication searching.  Maximum of 3 words per phrase.
  • Note* Authors will generally be notified via email whether or not their submission has been provisionally accepted within 7 -14 days from the date of submission.

Review Process & Final Publication:

  • submissions will be reviewed anonymously, with respect to identifying information (names of the author(s), country of origin, school, profession etc.).
  • the Board of Editors, along with the Director of Publications, will make the final decision whether or not to accept any given submission.
  • once a submission has been accepted for publication, authors will begin work on the final manuscript.

  • it will be the responsibility of the author(s) to conduct further research (g.policy, data, correct citations).
  • only minor changes in style and content will be accommodated once production begins.
  • if substantive changes to the manuscript are required, the provisional acceptance for publication of the submission may be withdrawn or deferred for a subsequent cycle.

Plagiarism*:

Gov-Enhance Africa & its The Board of Editors have a zero tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. Any work that is either in whole or in part, plagiarised and not properly cited will be rejected. An author caught plagiarising will be barred from ever publishing with Gov-Enhance Africa.
